Voice Of Adesua Sickle Cell Foundation has concluded arrangements with Safeway Hospital at Sangotedo. Ibeju -Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria. A private hospital, very thorough and affordable . We would be working in partnership with them for the availability of their facility for Voice Of Adesua sickle cell foundation Awareness program and our Genotype testing during our programs. For now this is the location that we would be using whenever we have awareness campaigns and genotype testing.
Asides making their facilities available for VOASCF, They are giving us a huge discount on every genotype testing that will be done on any individual under the umbrella of VOASCF as part of their partnership to this great project and also provide a Haematologist Doctor at every program.
We had a meeting with the Chief medical Director Dr Akin Atoke and a tour of the facility on the 28th day of February, 2019.
We are therefore good to go with our genotype testing awareness. #Savethenextgeneration. They also are very opened to partner with us on MISSION 700 as soon as the project begins
We plan to go on Radio and begin a broadcast for those in Lagos and its environs to go to our designated Laboratory on specific days and have their genotype test done at no cost to them and why.
We know it will be successful in Lagos . However, by 3rd quarter of 2019, we shall have the radio program begin in six rural areas in the six different Geopolitical zones. Between the month of June and July, we shall be contacting and having Representatives (volunteers) which will not exceed six in number in each of the zones ensuring the Information on the importance of genotype test is broadcast on Radio, and securing schools, markets, churches for our campaigns on sickle cell anaemia
We have already begun talks with SAFEWAY HOSPITAL/ LABORATORIES for the provision of Mobile Test kits for this exercise in these six rural areas considering their network in the Health sector in Nigeria. Thorough and affordable too.
Right now, we can confidently say we are good to go. Our first Awareness program in Lagos is slated for This month March 2019.
